The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is a voice for the prosperity of the province and its businesses. Prior to the federal election, the OCC wanted a campaign calling the public’s attention to shortfalls in equal treatment for Ontario in 5 key areas, and urging them to take action and contact party leaders to make these election issues.
IdealMinds created the ActNowforOntario multi-media campaign for the OCC. We created a consistent look and feel for the campaign that reflected a ‘grass-roots’ and populist approach, and tapped into genuine public outrage and commentary to communicate a message the public would identify with, and politicians would perceive as real. Every message concluded with a call to action, and we gave the public a user-friendly way to take action.
Design: logo and brand design for the ActNowforOntario campaign with a ‘raw’, ‘grass-roots’ approach and branding, diverging from the more formal and corporate OCC branding, that would be accessible and appealing to a broad public.
Web Site creation: using the ‘grass-roots’ look and feel, we created an online video web site pushing viewers to send emailed messages to federal party leaders.
Video Production: we created 5 video messages on 5 key issues, using the genuine comments of people interviewed on the street to reflect genuine public concern and outrage. The raw treatment reinforced the ‘populist’ and ‘grass-roots’ positioning of the campaign.
Online Video: The 5 videos were implemented on the web site, with interactive buttons to permit instant action for the users.
Radio Ad Production: Radio ads for each of the 5 issues were produced, driving awareness and traffic to the web site where listeners could state their concern by emailing federal leaders.
